Project Hammarby Sjöstad is a separate organisation within the remit of the City of Stockholm Development office (formerly known as the land office). The project and the City Planning Department are jointly responsible for designing and implementing the city district.

The project’s areas of responsibility include financing, planning, soil remediation and building the city district’s bridges, streets, pipelines and parks.
