Through project guided work methods children create new knowledge and experiences together with the educators and other children.
The children’s experiences, their curiosity and their desire to learn and understand is made use of and challenged further. Because the children are given room for their thoughts and speculations and because they should be able to reflect together; it is important that the educators together with the children work in smaller groups.
Before a project begins the educators observe what the children are doing, which learning processes they are in and what the children are trying to understand. From these observations, the questions the children have asked or from the questions an educator has asked, they should be made curious about the chosen subject or question proposed around the chosen subject for example math, patterns, water, shadows, symbols, similarities-differences.
