About the Social Affairs Committee and its Administration

The Social Affairs Committee and its Administration is a political body made up of local elected officials. It is a specialized Committee that through its Administration provides av variety of services needed by the City of Stockholm's 14 District Administrations, as well as some city-wide social welfare programs.

Among other services, the 14 District Administrations in Stockholm provide help and support on social issues. These include individual and family support and legal services, adoption and child custody, care for the disabled and care services for the elderly.

The Social Affairs Committee and its Administration is responsible for running a number of institutions, while the District Administrations place clients for treatment and rehabilitation at these different facilities.
